Questions people ask
What is NextBeing?
NextBeing is an AI interview assistant for live coding rounds and practice, a Windows app. It listens with you in a conversation and, about a second after a question, shows the words you'd say next in your own voice, written from your notes. It never speaks for you, and it never records the other person unless you keep a transcript.
Is NextBeing an interview cheating tool?
No. It shows you your own words, from your own notes, and you decide what to say. Use Live where help is allowed: sales calls, client meetings, interviews that permit AI tools. For interviews that forbid them, Practice is the mode: an AI interviewer that grades you until you don't need help.
How fast is the answer during a live interview?
About one second: 1.0 s median, 1.6 s at the 90th percentile, from the end of their question to your line, measured over 32 scripted interviews on Oct 22, 2026 from the app's own logs. A scored gate first decides whether it was a question. Then the line stays still.
Can CoderPad, HackerRank or Zoom see it?
Windows itself keeps the window out of screen capture, the path shares and recorders use; checked with a capture test on Oct 21, 2026. A camera or a capture card still sees your monitor. The typer sends only the keys you press, so nothing is pasted and the rhythm is yours.
I haven't interviewed in years. Where do I start?
Start with Practice. The interviewer asks a real question out loud, listens, grades the answer on length, what held up and what to fix, and asks the missed ones again a day later. Most people run two or three mocks before the first live call. Live is for the call itself.
Does the typer type by itself?
Never. With the typer on, each key you press types the next character of NextBeing's code into your own editor, such as CoderPad or Notepad. Stop pressing and it stops. One key, one character. It can add realistic typos at a human rate if you want, and the screen check underlines any slip in red.
Which interview rounds does it cover?
Behavioural and technical questions, coding rounds in Python, Rust, Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, C# and more, and system design rounds on a board. Coding rounds get a readable first version with a sentence to say per line, changes as blocks to accept, and every version compiled before you see it.
Does it work on Mac, and what does it cost?
Windows 10 and 11 today; a Mac version is coming. Plans are Practice at $49 a month and Live at $129, each yearly at ten months' price, in USD, cancel any time. Every plan includes your notes and memory; Live adds the real-time line, the typer and screen reading.
